Hi, I’m Kate (she/her)
I'm a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and the owner of Calmer Canines. I've been working with dogs and their owners since 2007 using gentle, effective methods. I create solutions-focused treatment plans that meet the specific needs and abilities of each and every human client and canine student. I have worked with reactive and fearful dogs since 2010, primarily using BAT and Control Unleashed methodologies to teach dogs coping skills.
Since having a child of my own in 2018, I have focused on working with families from pregnancy/adoption through adolescence, but I still work with a variety of behavior issues and I love helping owners set up their puppies for success. I am a licensed Family Paws® Parent Educator and I also offer The Family Dog® Private Training Program. I am proudly neurodivergent and use my unique experience and perspective to help families create a healthy dynamic between all family members - two-legged and four.

In-person outdoor training available in Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Irvine, Newport Beach,
Orange, Santa Ana, Tustin, Villa Park. Service area may be extended within Orange County
limits on a case-by-case basis for families with children/babies.
